Fiction

Writing that isn’t true. I have another category called “politics” where, really, if you think about it… well, let’s just not go there.

These are links to .pdfs, which for fiction I think are better than posts.

Breach– an old short story (you need to be a nerd to enjoy this one) with some very tiny actors

Attention Span – the end of a sunny day

Glimpses – some fleeting points of view

I finally finished Exothermic, a novel: “There’s an explosion at a small Arizona refinery, connected to a small ex-mining town just north of the Mexican border. Was it an accident, or something else?”

I chose not to attempt to publish it via the normal methods, for several reasons including lack of patience, lack of desire to spend money with editors, lack of courage, and lack of any need to get paid for something I started “just to see if I could do it”.

I put it on Amazon, here (or search for “Exothermic John Kast”), to make it easy to load onto a Kindle. Amazon also has a print-on-demand service, so I made a for-print version as well. Amazon requires some minimum pricing – $0.99 for the ebook, $8.60 for the paperback.

There’s no need to spend money with Amazon to get Exothermic, except for the paperback book, and the convenience for Kindle devices. The link below goes to a folder that contains .mobi, .epub, and .pdf versions that you can download. I also included a .jpg of the cover, because the .pdf, formatted for the Amazon paperback, doesn’t include it. Emma Kast is the artist behind the cover art! Thanks so much Emma!
